Adam Murray BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI, Managing Director

As the founder and Managing Director of Urbana Town Planning, Adam can bring a career of experience of major and strategic planning applications to any project. Leading on all major projects across the country, Adam has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the planning system and has earned himself a reputation for his ability to successfully take major and particularly difficult sites and proposals through the planning process, and to success at appeal.

Prior to founding Urbana, Adam was founder of Coda Planning which for almost 7 years was a leading planning consultancy operating across the Northern Powerhouse and in the south-east.

Charles Dunn MPlan MRTPI, Associate

As an associate at Urbana, Charles leads major projects for clients through the planning process from conception to the delivery of planning permission and beyond.

Since joining the consultancy Charles has expanded his experience and skillset dramatically and in his role holds responsibility for the project management of proposals through the planning process, including the coordination of all other consultants and members of project teams.

Charles is also experienced in strategic land promotion and advocating on behalf of clients through Local Plan consultation processes and at Examinations in Public.

William Marshall MPlan MRTPI, Senior Planner

William has worked on a wide range of projects from contentious house extensions and commercial development to large residential schemes.

Whilst undertaking projects across the country, including Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Surrey, William primarily works within the Sheffield City Region and has developed a strong knowledge of and working relationship with those local authorities to help gain successful permissions. His role involves liaising with different consultants and stakeholders whilst producing a variety of supporting documents such as Retail Impact Assessments, Sequential Tests and Planning Statements.

Mark Boyd MPlan, Planner

As Urbana’s newest team member, Mark leads on a number of residential projects, gaining experience in the varying interpretations of planning policy across multifarious local authorities.

Mark’s work at Urbana is complemented by his active involvement in the Academy of Urbanism as a Young Urbanist, regularly attending and participating in events across Europe. The mission of the Academy is to seek and promote a better quality of urbanism, and is rapidly expanding to become a global forum of knowledge-sharing on all matters critical to sustainable placemaking.

Owen McLeod, Assistant Planner

Owen joined Urbana in July 2019 as an Assistant Planner and supports the team on a wide range of projects. Using his ever growing knowledge of the planning system he provides assistance through detailed policy research, site analysis and report writing on smaller to medium-scale projects whilst also working on larger projects as part of the wider team.

Kit Miller, Assistant Planner

Kit joined Urbana in September 2020 on a year-long work placement as part of his BA Human Geography studies at Sheffield Hallam University. Day-to-day he will be working closely with Charles on SHU’s projects which are both key to the future of the city and university. He will also be assisting other members of the team through research, applications, and reports.
